Liposuction in the area of neck (buccula). This intervention has the purpose to remove the unwanted fat accumulations at the level of the chin or goitre. The incisions are closed after the elimination of the fat with the help of fine sutures or with the help of special plasters. The procedure can last about 30-45 minutes, depending on the amount of fat to be eliminated. For most people, a single liposuction intervention is sufficient.
Liposuction can be combined with other surgical techniques, such as facelift or neck lift.Alternatively, for very small areas, the fat can be “melted” by injection of a lipolytic substance. Also, the fat collected by liposuction can be used to enlarge or contour other areas; for example, it can be used in the smoothing of dark patches or nasolabial furrows.
The result becomes visible only after the elimination of oedemas; more precisely, in three weeks postoperatively. Remodelling of skin takes place between 4 and 6 months, the time during which the result improves gradually.
